I watched a repeat of Part 1 on Friday @ 2am. The second part will air on Saturday @2pm. Then both Part 1&2 will again repeat on Sunday @1:30am (part1) and 4am (part 2).
It is well worth a look at how it all came about. It saddens me to see how Colin Powell, Sec. of State, was coerssed into joining the band wagon, with Chaney banging the drums of war and Bush leading the parade. Powells popularity was higher than Bush d/t his integrity. Bush knew this and used Powell to sell the war to the UN. But not before the French Ambassador pulled the rug out from Powell just before his speech. Remember changing the name to American Fries?
Both parts are very interesting. They tell how Chaney and the Sec of Defense could not or would not believe that a small ragtag group could orchestrate the 911 catastrophy. Rather believed it could only be done by another country, like Russia. Their thinking was from the cold war school.
The CIA had a head up on Chaney & Sec of Def. They had info on Ben Ladin and eventually we attacked in Afghanistan. But Chaney userped the CIA and brought Iraq into the scheme of things. Problem was they could not find those nasty WMD's to support their case to go to war.
Although the Frontline programs are long, they are worth a look, even if its just for the historical aspect of it all. Watch all of it, or just part of it. It could wet your appatite to the shinagins that go on behind closed doors and the consequenses they begat.
