Your thoughts on the Morons who think this is a good idea. I can think of other things this money would be good for. I mean hell this road has always been a problem for flooding and now all of sudden someone gets a sore in there ass and they decide now is a good time to do something about it.

I read about that also. Not sure what the real aganda is here. Maybe someone else can tell us what is really going on. Like you said, this has been a problem for years now, and why all of a sudden they want to worry about a small flooding problem.

I think buying up the property maybe the real isssue here? Does someone want the property and for what reason? Anyone know the answers? How is buying the property going to help with flooding?

"The money will be used to buy property along County Road 1A in the peninsula between the confluence of the Walhonding and Tuscarawas rivers, an area subject to frequent flooding."

Here: <"A face lift like this would be an improvement," he said. "With the new bridge this road has become a major thoroughfare.">
How is the face lift going to help with flooding?

Sounds like to me it's all about land grapping, maybe I'm all wrong, but just my thoughts on it. Maybe someone smarter than I could give us more insight on the issues here.

I have been following this from the beginning and this is what I have learned. Buying up the property on CR 1A is not intended to help the flooding. Nothing will help with the flooding in that area because it is considered a flood way. People owning property in that area can not build and can not improve their property more then...something like 50% of the property value. This gives those property owners a chance to sell their property for 100% or maybe more of the appraised value and get out. Most of the homes over there have been water soaked for years. Who else is going to buy over there, not me. There is no land grabbing going on, they are not under any pressure of any kind to sell. If they do not want to sell, then so be it, and deal with it. I think it would look so much better for people coming into our town for the first time. My only question is what are they going to do with the town side of the bridge?
