Student Arrested for “Terrorist” English Class Story

A George Rogers Clark High School junior arrested Tuesday for making terrorist threats told LEX 18 News Thursday that the “writings” that got him arrested are being taken out of context.

Winchester police say William Poole, 18, was taken into custody Tuesday morning. Investigators say they discovered materials at Poole’s home that outline possible acts of violence aimed at students, teachers, and police.

Poole told LEX 18 that the whole incident is a big misunderstanding. He claims that what his grandparents found in his journal and turned into police was a short story he wrote for English class.

“My story is based on fiction,” said Poole, who faces a second-degree felony terrorist threatening charge. “It’s a fake story. I made it up. I’ve been working on one of my short stories, (and) the short story they found was about zombies. Yes, it did say a high school. It was about a high school over ran by zombies.”

Even so, police say the nature of the story makes it a felony. “Anytime you make any threat or possess matter involving a school or function it’s a felony in the state of Kentucky,” said Winchester Police detective Steven Caudill.

Poole disputes that he was threatening anyone.

Wisconsin Police were caught on camera tasing a 54 year old woman and confining her to a wheel chair after she sat in the wrong seat at a football game in Madison.

The weapon is designed to be used as a last resort before lethal force when a suspect becomes violent and the officer feels their own safety is under threat.

The police are now trained that "pain compliance," a euphemism for torture, is acceptable in apprehending anyone even if that person poses no physical danger.

This case once again highlights the fact that police are using the Taser to get non-violent suspects to simply do what they are told, rather than for their intended purpose as the very last line of defense before the handgun.

Taser has been the subject of much controversy and outrage all over the world.

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A Clay County father said he wants answers after his daughter and two other kids at her elementary school were accused of selling drugs and facing possible punishment all over some Vitamin C drops.

Nine-year-old Khalin Rivenbark’s father said hs was accused of selling drugs after giving out cough drops to fellow students at school.

The drugs the girl allegedly had were the Halls Defense Vitamin C cough drops, which her father had put in her backpack weeks ago to take to school when the child was getting over a cold.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two mothers have pulled their children out of the South-Western City School District after one of their son’s was shocked with a Taser, but authorities defended the use of such weapons, saying they cut down on injuries to officers and citizens, 10TV’s Andy Hirsch reported on Monday.

The student was shocked during a fight in the cafeteria at Franklin Heights High School. A surveillance camera recorded the brawl, as well as the school’s resource officer, deploying his Taser on one of the students.

A naked man wandering around an apartment complex near Houston, Texas died after police shocked him with a taser four times and killed him. If he was nude they knew he was unarmed. You are not to use a taser on a unarmed person.

Surveillance video released in an assault case against a King County, Wash. sheriff’s deputy shows him kicking a young girl, slamming her to the jail cell floor and striking her repeatedly. The deputy has pleaded not guilty in case.

The teen was 15 years old.

Not only have people gone wild, but also the police, pushing and using a taser on a 72 year old women. If the police are so out of control what makes you think that people will follow in their foot steps and become just as out of control?
